Psychology & Therapeutic Supports · South East Melbourne

Psychology across South East Melbourne.

Psychology under the NDIS sits in capacity building as a therapeutic support, and it is a different thing from a Medicare mental health treatment plan. Both can be part of your care, and they can run alongside each other.

In the south-east in-person sessions are practical for most people, and video is there when travel, energy or anxiety makes getting to an appointment the hardest part of the appointment.

We would rather fit around care that is already working than ask you to start again. If you have a psychologist or psychiatrist you trust, keeping that relationship usually matters more than consolidating everything under one provider.

The region has substantial mental-health infrastructure — Monash Medical Centre at Clayton, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Hospital in Berwick, community teams and headspace services along the corridor. Psychology here often works best coordinated with those rather than in isolation.

Therapeutic supports in a plan are finite. We will be straight about what your funded hours can realistically cover and when something else would serve you better.

Self-managed and plan-managed plans welcome.

Common questions

Good to know

Can I use NDIS funding and Medicare sessions?

They are separate systems and can be used alongside each other, though not for the same session. We can help you work out which to use when.

Do I need a diagnosis to access psychology through my plan?

You need funded therapeutic supports in your plan. What matters for the work itself is what you want to change, not the label attached to it.

Can sessions be at home?

Often yes, depending on the work and what suits you. Video is also available where that is easier.
